Australian Fashion Week: 2021 Round Up

There’s always a buzz in the air in Sydney during Fashion Week, and even more so this year after the non-event of 2020.

I love seeing what my favourite designers have been creating over for the last few months in the grand reveal that is the runway show. Equally as exciting is seeing the latest Street Style - its like people watching on an epic scale!

We’ve put together a selection of our high-lights, including ideas that would be easy to add into your handmade wardrobe right now.

Round-Up:

  • Lots of feminine silhouettes, flouncy ruffles, and structured ruffles, big and or puffy sleeve are still going strong. Overall looser, relaxed fitting styles.

  • Long skirt and dresses, long styles worn over shorts & pants.

  • A mix of bright, pastel and neutral colours with fresh summery white.

  • Florals across the board, some dainty, some grandma vibes, some subtle, and some bold!

I hope you enjoyed this mini summary of the week and maybe its got you thinking about a pattern or two in your stash that you can hack or maybe just a new way of wearing some or your me-made’s?

Happy Sewing

Love,
