PANTONE Colour of the Year 2021

Ultimate Gray + Illuminating

Each year I love finding out what PANTONE has dubbed as colour (or in this case, colours) of the year. Whether or not you subscribe to the trends its always fun and injects some inspiration to my makes. I don’t think I own anything in an “illuminating” shade of yellow - I accept the challenge Pantone, and it gives me an excuse (not that I need one ;) ) to make something in a colour I would otherwise pass by - probably on my way to make something in “ultimate gray”! hee, hee, hee…..

Pantone Institute, has described this years choices as "a chromatic union to convey a message of strength and hope that is both lasting and comforting for the soul" . Leatrice Eiseman, director of the Pantone Institute , explained that " each of the two colors has a strong emotional impact. Gray is the strong and stable foundation that we need. Yellow in itself embodies hope, sun and joyful spirit."

Some inspiration from the runway to get the creative juices flowing - have fun exploring - and if you’re like me, discover a new hue for your wardrobe….
